I am on this new kind of journey, seeking abundance and joy in my life as a parent, woman and creative spirit; trying to find ways for all of me to exist in harmony with itself and with the world. Part of this journey is allowing yourself to be open to the things you want and need… and what do you know? The Tall Poppy Project by Kylie Patchett arrived on my doorstep…
… and it is just exactly what I wanted and needed to read to help me along my journey. I was immediately drawn to the book because Poppy is my daughter’s name, and the Tall Poppy Project sounds like something I absolutely need to be involved in. The blurb on the back of the book says,
“Colloquially, a Tall Poppy sticks its head above the rest only to get cut down. But what if being a Tall Poppy could mean standing tall and proud in your own unique gifts plus delivering those gifts to the world..”
Well isn’t this exactly what I want to teach my children? But how can I teach what I do not know? Im learning about this through gratitude practice, and this book only serves to reinforce and expand on that.
“The key is listening, tapping in to how your life feels. It is absolutely possible for us all to feel good in our own lives. Our feelings give us the compass, our free will dictates our reality and the way we treat ourselves. The external world reflects it all back at us.” Patchett; p21. 2013
As I read the book It All Makes Sense. It is full of good advice, positive steps forward and an encouraging and nurturing attitude that makes me want to be a better me and enjoy a better life! I love the format of the book; with clear principles, each with lists, pointers, reflections, quotes and lots more to engage me and INSPIRE me. What I love most about this book, is that it is entirely holistic in its ethos. It looks at all aspects of your life, your person, and your future, and offers positive guidance in all areas.
In the meantime make sure you like Kylie and the Tall Poppy Project on facebook, or if you cant wait to read it, you can buy your own copy here.

(January 30, 2013 - 10:13 pm)This is the where I am right now… working to make things happen!
My ultimate dream is to allow myself to fail at the things I love and hold dear and believe that this will only lead to growth and fulfillment! Also… to take the word ‘doubt’ out of my vocabulary. It is too prevalent in my mind!
