This craft has been around since I was a kid, and comes out for almost every holiday in different forms. However, it’s a classic for a reason, so today I’d like to show you how to make this fun paper ornament craft that we did for Easter.

Trace and cut a LOT of Easter egg shapes onto pretty paper. I used scrapbook paper because I have a lot of it, but even a few different plain colours, or eggs cut out of paper that your child has painted, would work just as well.  I would say that you need a minimum of 6 eggs per ornament per child to make this work.

With older children, fold them all in half lengthwise with the pattern side in (if there is one). If you’re doing this with a 3 year old or younger, you could pre-fold them ahead of time.

Break out the glue stick and show your child how to glue one half and then glue another piece on top, lining up the folds as best as they can.

Keep going until you have them all glued and there are only two white sides waiting to glue together. Put the glue on them both, and add your loop of ribbon or embroidery thread before sticking those last two together.
