I have a free printable sight word mat for you today that I came up with while working on spelling words with my sidekick.
I kept it very simple so that you can use it in different ways. I would suggest laminating it, or putting it into a page protector, so that you don’t have to keep printing it. Here’s what we did with it:
I wrote a word onto the “read it” line in wipe-off marker, and had him read it to me.
On “Write it!” I first did a dashed outline for the word for him to trace
Then I erased it and had him write it on his own.
For the “Make It!” section, you could use fridge magnet letters, playdough, twigs, pipe cleaners, or any other hands-on substance that suits your fancy. Change it every time so that it stays fun!
I hope you enjoy this one. It’s been good for a lot of practice at our house! You can download the free printable sight word mat here. And remember that you can use it for learning a single letter or number too if your children are younger than mine.
