The cheese is tasty mature cheddar that is just conveniently cut and wrapped into sticks which are yummy as snacks on their own, or circular slices with are great for quick sandwich making and for making faces (think raisins, chopped apple, ham, etc!!) Mu kindly sent us some samples and Jake and Poppy both loved them, I did too, and Im a bit of a cheese snob!

Explore taste buds with Apples Are Not Just Red from Little Moments

And here are some simple snacks from my ‘other’ blog, Creative PlayhouseAutumn Fruit Bowl Edible Owl and Banana Bites

Our very own foody guru Lorraine says,
Threading cheerio necklaces is a fun game on a rainy day, let the little lovelies sit and make necklaces before eating them!! Instead of just giving a child a boring bowl of Cheerios with milk for breakfast, save the Cheerios for snack time after school and pop them in a little bowl mixed up with raisins, sunflower seeds or any other dried fruit and seeds they like and serve alongside chopped fruit or grapes or berries. This works for breakfast too if you have time for a finger food buffet…” and,

Raw veg and fruit (don’t overdo fruit, we need to train our taste buds to enjoy less sweet flavours too) with some nuts (older kids) or carbs – homemade flapjacks, perhaps, or have some dairy – yogurt plus berries or cheese and apple. You can eat virtually every vegetable raw except white potatoes. Courgettes [zucchinis] are really nice in tagliatelle strips (use a veggie peeler) as are carrots and sweet potato – it makes a cool pile of ‘raw spaghetti’ – great for little hands”

Check out more of Lorraine’s great ideas on her facebook page and see her posts here on Mummyology every monday!
Hope you enjoy all these ideas from the fantastic blogs Ive shared. Happy snacking! 🙂
