Confessions: I love my kids but…

I do, I honestly love my 2 beautiful children with every aching bit of my heart, body and brain! They have given my life a new lease, a new dimension, and absolutely a new purpose. And I’m happy. (who’d of thought?). Im a devoted mother; spending my days and nights comforting, playing, educating (or trying to), guiding, taming, and enjoying my children.

BUT…

wow, Id love to go out to dinner. In the evening.

And not worry about how much wine Im drinking.

Id love to swim in the sea and not look back for a while…

Im not particularly sleep deprived but Id love to sleep and sleep and sleep…

Id love to have a care free, romantic date night with the other half,

and have a conversation with a grown up that doesn’t get interrupted,

casually peruse some shops, not concerning myself with snacks, lost shoes, keeping the baby asleep, grabby hands…

Id love to get dressed without worrying about how Im going to breastfeed discreetly,

and leave the house just grabbing my keys and phone…

🙂

I haven’t had more than 3 or 4 hours ‘off’ in 2 years and 8 months – can you tell?

What would you just love to do kid free?

All of the above definitely….think mine would be to have one night sleep in a hotel or somewhere when I knew my kids were happy but not with me! My sonic bat like hearing would have to turn itself off…. Now laughing that a night like that has sleep at the priority not any other nocturnal activities with my husband! – oh how times change 🙂
